A laboratory investigation on thermal properties of virgin and aged asphalt mixture

In this paper, the thermal properties of three dense graded asphalt mixtures, 20 mm DBM, AC 14, and 6, are presented. Density air voids compacted specimens also shown. Thermal conductivity was measured in laboratory for non-aged, short-term aged long-term mixtures at different temperatures 19 (±1) oC, 65 (±5) 80 oC. Specific heat capacity diffusivity were calculated from equations derived literature. Heat penetration depth shows instrument source that dissipates into specimens. The results analysed to determine effect content, transient line (TLS) method, temperature aggregate size aging on studied. It concluded there is a minimal 4% 6.5% voids. method measurement affect considerably conductivity. However, inconclusive varied between studied relative temperature. Asphalt did not specific capacity.
